- Terra
Nova was formed in 1997 when Philip Roycroft, and Philip Maughan, who had been running
Endeavour Scotland, an educational training charity, for 15 years, bought out the company.
The new name, Terra Nova, was the name of Captain Scott's ship during his first Antarctic
voyage and reflects the above quotation from Proust.
Terra Nova's offices are located in Callander, in an area of outstanding
natural beauty soon to be designated as Scotland's first National Park. We work throughout
the UK and Internationally.
In 1995 the partners won a National Training Award for a long-term
Leadership Development programme created for Oki, and the following year gained
accreditation for the Scottish Quality Management System, being among the first
independent organisations to do so.
In 2000,
Terra Nova achieved the prestigious IiP (Investors in People) Recognition.
More
recently, Philip Roycroft was awarded Motorola's William Weisz award in 2001 for his work
as a Master Trainer on their "Essentials of Motorola Management" programme. This involved coaching and support for 15 trainers
delivering the programme in 12 countries across Europe, Middle East & Africa.
- The
emotional and physical safety of delegates is the primary consideration on all programmes.
To that end our staff are skilled in groupwork, and where involved in outdoor activities,
hold the appropriate national qualifications. A copy of our Health and Safety guidelines
is available on request.

- Our
approach is both informal and challenging. We are committed to providing practical
programmes which improve business performance.
