SQMS stands for Scottish Quality Management Systems. An adaptation of BS5750
devised for Training Providers in Scotland, and administered by Scottish Enterprise. Terra
Nova was one of the first independent training providers to achieve this standard in April
1996. It achieved this after 9 months of work to align its processes to the standard, and
after completing a comprehensive audit undertaken by Forth Valley Enterprise. |

Training Awards recognise
success in training that leads to improved business performance. Terra Nova won this
prestigious award in recognition of work undertaken in collaboration with OKI. This long
term programme developed Team Leaders who were effective role models of the company's
values. The programme combined experiential learning and taught theoretical concepts, with

Investors
in People is the National Standard for effective
employer investment in people. Drawn from the practises of successful companies, the
Standard provides a catalyst and framework for improving business performance. Terra Nova
achieved the standard for 'practising what it preaches', by demonstrating a commitment to
