There is now clear evidence linking organisational culture, productivity and profit. Yet from a recent gallup survey of 1.7 million employees two thirds where either not engaged, or actively disengaged. The cost in absenteeism, staff turn over and lost productivity is enormous. Outmoded command-and-control management appears to play an important part in employee disengagement.
